As we have anticipated deputation for the last few years we’ve prayed for the Lord’s leading regarding how we could most effectively raise our support. One of our goals is to make ourselves readily available to potential partnering churches. This month we have put full time “wheels” to that prayer as we seek to be “in the way.”
Our time in Murfreesboro had been great! We were able to carefully move all our essentials into the trailer, and we had a meeting scheduled for the first week of March up in Maryland. The question was, if we were going through with our plan to live on the road then it meant pulling the trailer all the way up to Baldwin, MD. To do so we really needed to fill our schedule for the rest of the month before our April meeting in Michigan. Driving to Maryland is a lot of miles, especially at 8mpg when pulling our “house!” But by the day we were supposed to leave we still only had the one meeting for all of March.
Our fixed expenses were being covered through our current supporting churches, but what then would we live off? Did I mention the huge gas expense? It seems fitting that our first big trip of full time deputation was beginning with a major test of our faith in God’s provision! Well we stepped out and drove off... and not four hours down the road I received a phone call!
The Lord revived our wavering faith by graciously giving us a last minute invite to a Missions Conference less then two hours from our meeting in MD! We tried to put ourselves in the way and the next couple weeks would bring some remarkable blessings of God’s provision for our family.
