One of the things deputation is especially good at is forcing you out of your comfort zone. Constantly being in new places, meeting many new faces keeps us from being very familiar with our surroundings. Such a lifestyle is supposed to be great for preparing us to live in a foreign culture, or so we’re told! This kind of constant change can be a hardship for anyone who is trying to develop orderliness in his own life or especially in the lives of others who are dependent on him, such as his children! Biblically, though we are called to be faithful to Him in the choices we make, God is the one ultimately and always in control of the details of our lives. We can trust Him with the unknowns and the challenges that accompany the unfamiliar surroundings, choosing thankfulness rather than frustration over things we cannot control.
I'm blessed to be married to my beautiful wife and best friend, Sarah. God has graciously given us six wonderful children, Hannah, Will, Drew (who is already promoted to heaven), Kara, Sam and little Laura.
