I’ve learned that raising our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord means preparing them to believe.
The critical relationship between finding answers and coming to faith is demonstrated very persuasively at the Creation Museum, which we were privileged to visit while at a church in Indiana this fall. “Prepare to Believe” is the motto of the Museum. Everything about the place is done with excellence and from a solidly biblical, scientific worldview. Human reason is unmasked as an illogical worldview without a mooring. But apart from the Bible that’s where all of us would be left... to do and think what is right in our own eyes. As a helpful summary Answers in Genesis, the organization that runs the Creation Museum, has developed the “Seven C’s of History.” As you walk through the main exhibits you are transported along the timeline of the first four events, and confronted with answers to all the difficult questions raised by Creation, Corruption (the fall), Catastrophe (the flood) and Confusion (Babel). They have other fascinating exhibits too like the ancient manuscripts in “Verbum Domini” and a planetarium presentation “Fires in the Sky.” The climax of the tour is a multimedia presentation, “The Last Adam,” which presents Christ, the Cross and finally, Consummation. We praise the Lord for the work of this great organization and thank Pastor Dempsey for the tickets and personal tour!
